glad to be the first to report about an exciting new collaboration. adidas Originals will be working with Lucasfilm Ltd. on a collaborative STAR WARS™ collection, with first releases coming for Spring/Summer 2010.

The Spring/Summer 2010 collection fuses iconic STAR WARS™ characters and scenes with classic adidas Originals footwear and apparel silhouettes. Inspired by the galactic saga, the STAR WARS™ collection consists of limited edition as well as mass distribution footwear, apparel and accessories for men, women and kids. Classic adidas Originals track tops and several legendary sneaker styles are represented with characters and scenes from the epic saga in reinterpreted versions. Expect to see Darth Vader and Stormtrooper graphics on select iconic Originals styles. Other key STAR WARS™ characters and memorable moments from the films will also be represented in innovative ways.

The Spring/Summer STAR WARS™ collection will be introduced at retail beginning January 2010. Select retailers as well as adidas Originals Stores worldwide will carry the collection. The collaboration will also include a Fall/Winter 2010 line with an exciting new assortment of footwear and apparel.

About 300 demonstrators began throwing shoes at the entrace of the Queen Elizabeth Hotel around 11:30 Thursday monrning ahead of a speech by former U.S President George W. Bush during a luncheon at the hotel. Traffic was blocked in both directions on Rene Levesque Blvd. as the Montreal police tactical sqaud positioned itself to control the crowd.

The demonstraors included university students, political activitists such as the Raging Grannies, and various left-wing supporters.

They were blowing whistles and chanting in an effort to drown out his speech.

"A lot of objects were thrown at police, but no one was injured on either side," Montreal police Constable Raphaël Bergeron said.

Police have also arrested two demonstrators for disturbing the peace.

Cordero was born in Far Rockaway, New York, the son of Beatriz Parcon, a registered nurse, and Federico Cordero, an architect. As a child, his mother nicknamed him "Ricky" after watching episodes of I Love Lucy while she was pregnant. Cordero moved with his family to Long Island, New York at the age of 10. In Long Island, he attended Baldwin Senior High School (Baldwin, New York) and later enrolled at the New York Institute of Technology where he majored in Computer Graphics. Although he was studying traditional fine arts, Cordero gravitated towards video art and motion graphics using consumer camcorders and post production software. His senior thesis project titled Duck Sauce, a five minute 3D animation, won the NYIT SOURCE (Symposium on Undergraduate Research and Creative Expression) Award. He graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Computer Graphics.
